10 weird / absurd elements I saw in local drama - No 2

Number 2

A lady married her first love and then the first love died from sickness, she mourns his death and regularly visits his grave. Her brother in law wants to marry her after the brother's death because he was taken by her gracefulness. However she rejects him because she claims her love only existed for the late husband. She remains friends with the BIL.

She is also often approached and even got stalked by her former second husband until the BIL warns the ex husband. I think she married the second husband because she wanted to forget the late husband, but they weren't happy living together because the ex husband was a jelaous guy.

Then she got a chance to work together with a boutique owner who saw her potential as a businesswoman. Later when she had to meet the boutique owner's husband who came in place of his wife for a business trip, he turned out to be her ex boyfriend who dumped her long ago. He followed up their business meeting by coming to the boutique and declaring that he still has feelings for her. He wants to rekindle their love although he is married. He claims he is ready to leave his wife for her because their marriage (ex boyfriend and boutique owner) was an arranged marriage. so there was no spark.

This lady who is being chased by every guy in her life, wears baju kurung everywhere and is not flirty at all. I wonder why does she is being the object of affection by all these guys when she isn't exciting at all. Her character is not convincing at all.

10 weird / absurd elements I saw in local drama - No 1

Number 1

A husband just got back from the house of his future besan (his daughter's future MIL) (I just found out that besan means kiss in Spanish) and got greeted by his wife.

WIFE: "Honey why didn't you wait for me before you meet with them?
HUSBAND : I went there to discuss about the important preparations for the wedding ceremony.
WIFE: I have somethings to discuss with Datin (the future besan) too like what food to prepare and such.
HUSBAND: Your discussions are not as important as what I am discussing with Dato', if you went along you will only burden us.

Geesh, if you only want to focus on the important stuff then don't waste time doing a wedding reception la pakcik. You only make your wife feel bad and unimportant when everyone has actually agreed on doing a reception aka kenduri. So when do your wife discuss those preparations then?

Wait for 9 to 7, coming up tomorrow. To be continued.

My life so far

My name is Rara, Nadhrah. Yeah, that's my full name. Just one word, such a short name some people say. Some people call me Nadh while a handful of people calls me Rara, my close girlfriends from school calls me Gedh and some people gedikally call me Naddy.
Some people say I look harmless. I am like a toothless cat. I think I am fierce but my claws and teeth are blunt. Even my son is fiercer than me.

I used to be soooo afraid of confronting people that even buying a cup of drink from the canteen is like a Fear Factor race. So I am grateful of my present self. I could be better but things are improving for me in the self confidence department.

Much has changed for me. I haven't grown wiser in the appearance department, still am not wearing make up most days or in pretty shoes every day. The fact that I walk to the baby sitter's house while carrying a 12 kg child everyday makes wearing high heels and sneakers unappealing. But I don't refrain from buying them every few months. A girl will always need more shoes in her life.

I miss travelling. I can't wait for next year. I am going to bring my baby all over the world, wherever that may be reached by my budget of the time.

This is from the time we went to Kelly's Castle a day after I finished work at Mydin Ipoh.
Hubs brought along my mom and bro in law.

This is from the early days of my baby. I didn't travel anywhere except to my mom's or MIL's house since I was 6 months pregnant and up to a year after baby was born.

My husband went to a wedding with MIL, BIL and a grandaunt to Penang, and I stayed back in KL. Luckily I had wonderful friends who kept me company the day they went to Penang. Sitting and waiting is the norm during a wedding and my swollen feet and bored self couldn't comprehend them so I bailed out. Luckily hubs was understanding.

Son, sometime in his first year. This was taken using my lost Iphone. These days its all about the androids.

We went to Penang early last year. Husband never visited the island properly, and I just went there 2 months before for a course. The moment I saw the location on the offer letter "Penang" I quickly sent an application.

Now where should I fantasize about visiting? Some place kids and adults friendly.

When are you going to buy a house?

My mom in law and her siblings live on a piece of land which belonged to their late father. I heard that they have sold the land to a house developer, but nothing has been done so far like drilling or something. I estimate that the land will be developed in a year or two and by then my MIL will have to live somewhere else. She has the option of applying for a government quarters but she decided against it because at her age of nearing retirement, she has had enough of working on standby mode. Usually people who live in the quarters have to standby during emergency times.

So anyway they decided to buy a house instead of renting one, and so we went to see some potential houses around the Temerloh / Mentakab area. Most of the houses are one storey houses, with three bedrooms ranging from RM100,000 to RM130,000. MIL saw a few that she liked but haven't made a decision yet.

Anyway I heard that my husband's cousin is also planning to buy a house in Malacca. They lived in the house for about 3 years now and planned to buy the house they have been renting. Lucky for them.

I had a look at a few new properties and pre owned houses in mudah.my and found a few I liked. There's a new one storey house in Klang for RM217,000, and there is also a few decades old property for RM125,000 in Shah Alam. The difference between the two property is that the one in Klang is 47 kilometres away and the one in Shah Alam is 22 km away only. The other factors that I have to consider is, one is a landed property and the other one is a fourth floor, walk up flat.

Based on the facts, I prefer the landed house because it is nicely priced at less than RM250k, and it is a landed property so I won't need to upgrade houses in the future. Meanwhile if I buy the flat, and I intend to move away from KL in the future, I can easily rent them to tenants and buy another house. So I will have two properties by then.

I am split between choices like these even if they are make believe ones because there are pro and cons to each. And add the fact that I don't have a driver's license yet, which means I am almost immobile... it seems like buying a house near my office is a better option.
